Apply nowTo strengthen our team, we are looking for a Software Technical Writer, who will report to the Technical Documentation Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating technical documentation for the proprietary software developed and distributed by the company (CAD/CAM, HMI, OPS, WMS and others), with the aim of supporting users and technicians in their use of the software and helping the company achieve its objectives.
Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for:
- Creating and updating technical software documentation (user manuals, operating guides) in PDF and HTML formats, in accordance with editorial standards and guidelines
- Integrating HTML content (online help) directly into the software via links and contextual tooltips, in collaboration with the software development team
-Producing advanced content: step-by-step operational guides (how-to guides), FAQs and usage scenarios to illustrate how to combine software features to complete full operations
-Collaborating with the in-house video tutorial producer: drafting scripts, subtitles and supporting materials for software video content
-General editorial tasks (data maintenance in the CMS, software terminology, glossaries, archiving and versioning of documentation)
-Conducting research on software features (internal and external) and gathering documentation requirements in collaboration with the development teams
-Publication and distribution of software documentation n PDF and HTML formats for new releases, updates and previous versions
-Providing editorial support for internal and external software training projects
Technical requirements:
-Approximately 2 years' experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the fields of industrial software, automation or technology
-English language proficiency at least at B2 level
-Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for the production and maintenance of the online help integrated into the software
-Ability to understand software workflows and application logic in order to translate them into clear and user-friendly documentation
-Understanding of layout and UX/UI principles to ensure documentation is consistent with the software's user interfaces
-Ability to write subtitles and scripts for software tutorial videos
-Techniques for producing multimedia content for software documentation (screen capture, recording, visual annotation)
-Knowledge of image processing software and tools for managing screenshots and graphics for digital documentation (e.g. CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop)
-Software project documentation (functional specifications, user stories, release notes) as a source for drafting
-Willingness to travel occasionally up to 15% of working hours
Preferred technical requirements:
-Knowledge of simplified technical languages and structured writing techniques (ITS or equivalent) is desirable, as is knowledge of Information Mapping and documentation structuring methodologies
-An understanding of the architecture and interactions between complex software systems (CAD/CAM, HMI, OPS, WMS and related software) is desirable
-Experience with CCMS / ST4 or similar systems for structured document content management is desirable
-Knowledge of video editing software for documenting interfaces, experience in drafting documentation for complex application software, and knowledge of software development processes is desirable.
